warding off the february funk!
a month in photos (a challenge from soulemama)
Finally a little bit of snow! Enough to excite a 3 year old.....We braved the bitter cold wind and met some local families at the lake to slip and slide and sled on the frozen ice. A short outdoor romp followed by a long brunch at Elmers. A PERFECT SATURDAY MORNING.
Caution: ELMERS is habit forming!!!
Message to self:
If I Had My Child To Raise Again by Diana Loomans
If I had my child to raise all over again, I’d finger paint more, and point the finger less.
I’d do less correcting, and more connecting.
I’d take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.
I would care to know less, and know to care more.
I’d take more hikes and fly more kites.
I’d stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars.
I’d do more hugging, and less tugging.
I would be firm less often, and affirm much more.
I’d build self-esteem first, and the house later.
I’d teach less about the love of power, And more about the power of love.
It is so easy to get caught u in the dailyness of this time of year.......It is also easy for me to plan plan plan but always be in the planning stage ..... this poem will be my reminder to stay present.
